The U12 hurling league finished this week and Brid Og rounded off their Division 2 campaign with a fine victory over O'Donnells at Musgrave Park. The Ogs have played very well throughout this section of the league, sufferring only one defeat, on a day when the team was severely weakened due to holidays.

The Nipper Quinn championship is coming up for the U12s. Brid Og will play in the plate final, as their semi-final opponents, Gort Na Mona, have withdrawn. This match is scheduled for Rossa Park on 13th September. In the meantime, challenge matches are being arranged in order to prepare for the final. These began with a high scoring victory over Ballyvarley at the weekend and continue this evening at Cherryvale against Bredagh.

Thanks again to PJ Taylor for videoing the P4 footballers at the St Teresa's Go Games recently. The action can be seen at https://youtu.be/9twD5gy6wTs

There is also footage of the U12 hurlers playing Sarsfields at Croke Park last September at https://youtu.be/489b1b7dLsw. Thanks to John Prenter for filming the match. The sun affected the picture, but you can still see some good scores from the Ogs.

Pat Rice Memorial Tournament Winners 2015

29/06/2015Posted by Ciaran Grant

Eire Óg hosted their annual Pat Rice Memorial juvenile hurling tournament at Woodlands on Sunday 29th June. P6 teams from Dunloy, Keady, Rossa and St Gall’s came along to compete with Brid Óg.

The tournament was played on a round-robin league format. There were many very talented hurlers on all teams, with players displaying great skill and determination. Some of the games were evenly contested and at the end of two hours of very competitive hurling, Brid Óg emerged as victors after winning all four of their matches. This meant they retained the trophy they had won in 2014.

Eire Óg would like to thank Dunloy, Keady, Rossa and St Gall’s for competing in what is a very important tournament for the club. Regardless of the results all the kids playing can be very proud of their efforts.
