From Clare To Here - Sean Hawes

07/03/2012Posted by Gerard Murray

Eire Og hurlers have been benefitting from the coaching experience and expertise of former County Clare hurler and now Antrim senior hurler, Sean Hawes.

Sean has been taking a series of intense indoor hurling coaching sessions with the Eire Og U12 and U14 squads in Rathmore Hall over the past four weeks. Over that time the discipline, skill levels and speed of the combined squads has improved tremendously with Hawes taking the boys through a range of drills designed to dramatically increase the speed at which basic hurling skills are used by Eire Og players during games.

Thanks must go to Sean McKenna for setting up the contacts between the club and Hawes and of course Eire Og would like to pass on our thanks to Sean as he returns to take up training with his adopted new club Lamh Dhearg. Sean has assured us that he will return to facilitate some outdoor sessions with the Eire Og lads as soon as his busy schedule allows.

We wish Sean Hawes well for the coming season with Lamh Dhearg and Antrim in this year’s National Hurling League and Championship.
