South Antrim Under 12s Football League Division 2

20th May 2011

 Eire Og/St Agnes 4-6 St Brigids 0-1

Eire Og/St. Agnes (combined) continued their unbeaten run with this one-sided victory against St. Brigids at Harlequins.  The game was played over 4 quarters to allow a run out for the large numbers of Ogs/Aggies who turned up on the evening, allowing for an almost complete change of personnel at each interval.  The game was effectively over by the beginning of the third quarter when the young visitors had racked up 4-5 to the hosts 0-1.

South Antrim Under 12s Football League Division 2

Eire Og/St. Agnes (combined) maintained their unbeaten league record this season with a hard-fought win over Pearses at Woodlands.  This was a match where goals were key with first half strikes from Darragh Hamilton and Philip (2) being the difference between the two sides at the finish.  While enjoying the majority of possession, some wayward shooting from Ogs/Aggies and their opponents accuracy in front of goal, meant that Pearses were able to stay in touch throughout the match.  The Woodlands lads were relieved to hear the final whistle and to have secured the 2 league points.

Next up is an encounter with St. Brigids at Harlequins next Friday (20th May).

Eire Og/St Agnes 7-12 Sean McDermotts 2-2

South Antrim Under 12s Football League Division 2

Eire Og/St. Agnes (combined) continued their Under 12s league campaign with an encounter against Sean McDermotts at Woodlands.  The match was played over 4 quarters to accommodate the large numbers of players who showed up for both teams on the night.

The opening quarter was a close affair.  Despite dominating possession, Ogs/Aggies found themselves only drawing at the break 0-5 to 1-2.  This was as close as McDermotts were to get however with the Woodland lads really stepping up a gear over the next 3 quarters.  Despite rotating the team at every break, Ogs/Aggies completely dominated the rest of the match, racking up an impressive 7-7 over the next 3 periods while McDermotts could only manage a solitary goal in response.  A great performance on the night for the lads who hopefully can maintain this momentum going into their next match with Pearses on the 13th May (6.30 at Woodlands).
