06/06/2014Venue: King's Head

On Friday 6th June Éire Óg will host its annual Nite At The Races in the Kings Head, Lisburn Rd. This is the club's main fundraising event. The club relies on the fundraising acitivies of its members and the generosity of local businesses to meet the substantial costs of insurance, pitch fees and equipment.

Last year we had a fantastic turnout which made for a brilliant night's craic. Please come and help support your club. Bring your family and friends and enjoy a great night's entertainment.

The cost of sponsoring a horse or jockey is £10. You can sponsor a race for £50. Please see a coach or committee member regarding sponsorship. Don't forget to name your horse and/or jockey

Poc Fada

28/09/2013Venue: Woodlands

Juvenile Hurlers Fun & Fund Raising Event

On Saturday 28th September, from 2.30-4.00pm, we are holding a club poc fada at Woodlands for our juvenile hurlers. We have hurlers in the U-8, U-10, U-12 and U-14 age groups. With that many players there is a need for the repair and replacement of equipment – hurls (indoor and outdoor), helmets, training aids and balls – the balls rarely seem to last more than one training session! We last held a poc fada back in 2011 and it was a great success.

We are asking that all our hurlers try to raise funds for the event through sponsorship. Sponsorship forms will be distributed at training on Thursday, or they can be downloaded here.

* There will be a prize for the winner in each age group
* The winner will be the longest individual puck in each age group
* The more sponsorship raised the more goes you get
* There will be hot dogs & party bags for all competitors

We have booked the back bar in the Kings Head for afterwards, in order to watch the All-Ireland hurling final replay as a group, at 5pm. Everyone involved in the club and their family/friends is invited to join us. The more the merrier.
There will be a £2 entry fee for adults – kids will go free. The entry fee will include a ticket for a ballot. Any donations for prizes would be appreciated.
At the Kings Head, children must be accompanied by an adult who is taking responsibility for them.

We hope as many people as possible can join us and participate and help make the day a success.
