Eire Og

The nineties were to be very disappointing, considering the previous twenty years. Despite the senior reserve team winning the league in 1990, reaching the Martin Cup final in 1983, the re-introduction of senior hurling and some good juvenile successes, the senior footballers were relegated in 1994, due to the lack good young players coming through, older players retiring and defections to other clubs. After this Éire Óg finished as league runners up no fewer than four times between 1995 and 2000, just missing out on promotion each year.

50th Anniversary of the 1948 SFC

In 1998 Éire Óg held a Gala Dinner in the Wellington Park Hotel to comemmorate the 50th Anniversary of the Senior Football Championship success in 1948. Many of the players from that great team were present to collect mementos of the occasion.
